In 2008 the [http://www.dfg.de/ Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft] (German Research Foundation) funded a project for further development of Seismic Handler. In collaboration with the [http://www.bgr.bund.de/ Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe] (German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources) this project aims:

 * new graphical interface
 * easier handling of inventory data
 * support for more input and output formats
 * multi-platform support
