Notes

Former versions of the virtual machine used the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment on top of an Ubuntu system (AKA Lubuntu). The major advantage of this system is a low disc space footprint in comparison to Xubuntu or Ubuntu. Unfortunately Lubuntu isn't available anymore as long term supported (LTS) release, so we switched to Xubuntu from Seismic Handler release 2013a onwards.
