About this site

In 2008 the  Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) funded a project for further development of Seismic Handler. In collaboration with the  Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources) this project aims:

  • new graphical interface
  • easier handling of inventory data
  • support for more input and output formats
  • multi-platform support
  •  python interface
  • ...

Because there's only one funded position for three years we encourage you to participate in every aspect of Seismic Handler. Please contribute your scripts, additional programming and so on to us to make it available here for all possible users.

This whole site is a  Wiki. As all Wiki pages, this and mostly all other pages are editable, this means that you can modify the contents of this page simply by using your web-browser. We use SSL encryption for parts of this site (namely login form and svn access). Recent browsers issue eye-catching security warnings since we offer only a self-signed certificate. To access our services you have to trust it (exact procedure depends on your browser).

This option is only available if you register at Your changes will kept assigned to your login. Just  register and  log in with your data. Once you have your login, full write access will be also granted for the  discussion forums. There are also sandboxes for wiki format testing and [forum:1 forum testing].
