Access event data via FDSN webservice

command: EVENTS <lat> <lon> <radius> <minmagn> [<maxmagn>] [<offset>] [<reflat> <reflon> <refphase>]

Read event list from FDSN webservice, selected by geographic location. Result is printed to echo channel (default screen, may be redirected into a file via echo_ch command).

parameters

  • <lat> parameter type: float
Latitude in deg of geographic location.
  • <lon> parameter type: float
Longitude in deg of geographic location.
  • <radius> parameter type: float
Radius of area around given lat,lon location.
  • <minmagn> parameter type: float
    Minimum magnitude in event list.
  • <maxmagn> parameter type: float
    Maximum magnitude in event list.
  • <offset> parameter type: float
Constant offset subtracted from the output times (origin times). Useful for computing trace start times.
  • <reflat> parameter type: float
Latitude of reference location to compute onset time at this point. See parameter <refphase>.
  • <reflon> parameter type: float
Longitude of reference location to compute onset time at this point. See parameter <refphase>.
  • <refphase> parameter type: string
Phase to use for travel time computation. The triple <reflat>, <reflon>, <refphase> is used to recompute the origin times of the event list into theoretical arrival times at the given point. Together with the <offset> parameters, suitable time windows for trace retrieval may be computed.

qualifiers

  • /addr
Address or alias of the FDSN server, e.g. "IRIS".
  • /skipnodepth
Omit events with no depth specified.

example

events -9.6 -71.3 3. 6.0
Get eventlist from FDSN webserver with locations around (-9.6,-71.3) with magnitudes of 6 and larger.
events -9.6 -71.3 3. 6.0 ;; 60. 49. 11. p
Modify the origin times in this list to trace start times according to P arrival at location (49.,11.) and a constant time offset of 60 s.
