SHX meta data

Seismic Handler eXtended uses another approach for handling meta data compared to SH. Instead of using several files for station configuration and filter definitions, SHX utilizes a database.

The structure is quite simple, for every channel (e.g. BHZ, BHN, ...) an entry is made. The information includes station location, poles, zeros, start and stop date. Additionally you can save FIR coefficients.

The database backend uses sqlalchemy so that several database servers are supported. If you don't want to setup a database server, just use the file-based sqlite backend.

Importing configuration

You can simply import your present configuration into the database. The script import_inventory reads STATINF.DAT, filter_lookup.txt, sensitivities.txt and filter definitions from $SH_FILTER and saves the information into the meta data storage. More information can be obtained using the online help (-h option).
