Snapshot of development version

This how-to describes how you can build a Seismic Handler (SH/SHM) installation bundle using the latest source code.

Preparation

Make sure that you have the following programs available:

  • svn - the subversion command line client
  • base64 - BASE64 en- and decoder
  • tar with gzip support - compression program

On most Linux systems these programs are installed by default.

Download

The "release" script is available in our subversion repository. Simply download  makerelease.sh and save it as file.

Create installation bundle

Now you can run the makerelease script:

$ bash ./makerelease.sh

First it will download all source code to a temporary directory. Afterwards the installation archive is created as /tmp/SHM-install.sh. Now you are able to install the last software version as simply as described in the installation instructions (of course skip the download step).

Note

The revision number of your snapshot is saved in $SH_ROOT/setup/revision.
